All the topics from the yearly curriculum are covered through all preschool work methods and are brought closer to children in ways most acceptable to them, namely our workshops:
We paint, draw and mould every day and that way we express our acquired knowledge and our experience of the topic. We use all art techniques, from pencil, felt pen, pastels, charcoal and Indian ink to watercolours, finger-paint and various modelling techniques with play dough, different types of plasticine, make our own didactic games and use rough, natural materials, while continually learning new techniques, for instance, ‘decoupage’.
Our motto is ‘Life is music’, music is a component of our everyday life. Through song and dance we expand our vocabulary, develop motor skills, and develop the feeling for movement and rhythm. Every story and picture book is enriched with a song, we have fun singing and some of those stories go back to the youth days of our grandmas. We listen to classical music, we become familiar with various instruments and as a special treat, sometimes we even make our own instruments from rough materials.
All our creativity is expressed in the best way possible through our drama workshop, since it is a unique commixture of everything we have learnt in art, music, speech and drama art. We make our own puppets (glove puppets, guignol and various rod puppets), we paint our scenery, combine costumes, choose texts from numerous picture books that our preschool teachers read to us or we make up our own stories. We play symbolic games where we act different roles, we recite, sing and dance and have fun every day.
